THE QUESTIONS

What is the one thing you wish you knew when you started taking photos?

I wish I had known how to properly use my camera. It took me so long to figure out that Manual (M on the dial) was where I needed to be and then another long time to figure out how to shoot in manual.

What is in your camera bag?

CANON! I love Canon. I don't have a camera bag. I use a Pelican Vault but I carry these lenses: Sigma 35mm ART 1.4; Canon 24-70mm 2.8L; and Canon 70-200mm 2.8L.
I use these camera bodies: Canon 5d mark iii and Canon 5ds. I use SanDisk memory cards only.

Aside from a camera and lenses, what do you take to a photo shoot?

For a regular session, I carry mosquito spray, blankets, extra shoes, towels, hand sanitizer, props if needed, and Benadryl.
I have special kit for weddings that includes tons of odds and ends and "just in case" items.

How would you describe your style?

I like to think that my images are natural with dark tones. I don't like the film look. I like sharp, grain-free images. I can do a mix of photo journalistic and posed. I like to give my clients prompts and ask silly questions to inspire a natural, genuine reaction.

Which locations are your favorite?

Anything woodsy looking.
PawPaw's creek.
Downtown Memphis & Paducah.
Reelfoot Lake.
"The Trees" between Lake County and Dyer County, TN.

What do you do for fun?

I enjoy time with my boyfriend or my family and friends. I like true crime, crime shows like NCIS, online shopping, TikTok, and hanging around outside. I also love shopping for my house at thrift shops and dollar stores.
