FAQ

What is your photographic style?

I like to describe my style as classic with a soft, romantic feel. Recently, someone described my work as "feminine and pretty". I like that because that's how I want to make my clients feel. Well, I want them to feel pretty, beautiful, handsome, whatever adjective fits you.

I'm awkward and not photogenic. Can you help?

Absolutely! That's my job. However, I like to start out simple and "posey" perhaps and move gradually into the more fun, active prompts.

How long does it take to get our photos? How many will we get?

Engagement sessions are typically edited and delivered within two weeks.

Weddings completely depend on the time of year. During busy seasons, it can be up to 8 weeks. I frequently post changes in turnaround times on my Facebook page, and I will email you with any updates.

Do you travel? If so, how far?

Yes! My team and I travel throughout the southern US and there are some bucket list destinations that we would love to visit. I have about 8 three-day weekends during the year that are available for travel weddings beyond 6 hours from SWP's home.

What do wedding weekends look like for you?

Busy! I typically shoot Saturday weddings, and I start preparing on Friday night by cleaning, charging and repacking all my gear. On the morning of your wedding, I wake up super early and double check everything. The weddings we shoot are sometimes up to 4 hours from home. We typically leave and give ourselves about an hour of wiggle room for food, stops and unexpected incidents. Once at your venue, we are there until the contracted amount of time is up and then we head home. Sometimes, I am able to get a sneak peek to you within 24 hours and other times I am not. Starting in April 2025, I will no longer be shooting on Sundays so previews may come out within 24 hours again.

Do you carry general liability insurance?

Yes. I can provide proof of insurance to you or your venue upon request.

After You Book

STEP 01

Get to know Sam

I use a custom wedding questionnaire to get to know what my couples have planned for their wedding day. We can schedule an in-person consultation or coffee date to talk about your love story and what you expect from me on your wedding day.

STEP 02

Engagement Session

Get dressed up and meet me for your engagement session. We can meet in the middle, or you can come to Ridgely, and we'll shoot at local locations. I don't mind scoping out photo spots in other cities. I use the engagement session to get to know the couple a little better as well. If you've added a bridal session, we'll also talk about it and set a date for that session.

STEP 03

Timeline Creation

About a month before the wedding, I will reach out and send you a link to complete my timeline creation questionnaire. Once it is completed, we'll work together to create a detailed timeline for photos on your day.

STEP 04

Wedding Day!

On the wedding day, we show up between two and four hours before the ceremony, familiarize ourselves with the wedding venue and start taking photos. We work based on the timeline, but we are not held to it and welcome changes. We usually stay at your reception through all the important moments and some dancing depending on the number of hours you've selected in your contract. I aim to deliver a Facebook preview withing 48 hours of the wedding. Your images will be delivered to you within 8 weeks depending on the season and my workload.
